Session fee includes photographers time and talent, use of client closet, flower crowns, and everything necessary in the studio as well as creation of your gallery and product design. Collections include retouched images & beautiful, heirloom, printed products. Session fee required as a non-refundable retainer to book your session.
Collection can be chosen before your session or during proof gallery viewing. All collections include print credits.
Fine Art Maternity sessions take place at the studio and usually take an hour & 1/2 or so depending on the client's wishes and my inspiration for poses/shots. You have access to all dresses and headbands/flower crowns in the client closet, which are provided to create a gorgeous and dreamy motherhood image (and this is certainly my favorite type of maternity image to create!). Artistic poses and varying lighting techniques are used for these sessions. It allows for multiple outfits, so if you want to wear more than one maternity dress, or your own clothing and any robes/dresses from the Client Closet, that is welcome and encouraged. Tasteful nude or partially nude images are possible as well. Family and/or mother + child poses with the future big sibling(s) are included as well, if desired, and dresses for girls up to child size 14 are available for use. Outdoor photos may be included if scheduling allows for a golden hour session (hour before sunset).
**Maternity + Newborn option: this session can be combined with the full newborn session for a total session fee of $450 (savings of $50 on session fees). Combination collections can be found {here}. This is a great way to save some money and get a really complete gallery and cohesive images for your motherhood experience from pregnancy to baby.
Location Maternity sessions take place at your choice of location (suggestions provided), and usually take about 60 minutes, depending on the client's wishes, weather, locations, etc. Available times vary based on the time of year as “golden hour” - the hour before sunset - changes. In the winter, it is around 3/3:30pm and in the middle of summer it can be as late as 8pm. You may bring any clothing, props, or accessories you desire, as well as children & partners. There are some dresses and headbands/flower crowns in the client closet (for little girls, too), which are provided for your use to create a gorgeous and dreamy motherhood image. Time allows for multiple outfits, so if you want to wear more than one maternity dress, or bring along your own attire as well, that’s completely doable. I would aim for 2-3 looks, but more than a few may cause us to feel too rushed or run out of light.
