Newborn Session {In-Depth} Details + Info

Newborn sessions last as long as necessary to capture the best images of your new bundle. Generally, you can expect 45-60 minutes in studio start to finish for a “mini session” and 2-3 hours for a full session with siblings, family, and unwrapped poses, all depending on the cooperation of little ones. There is no rushing and I do what we must to keep your sweetheart calm and happy… Newborn photos do take a lot of time and patience, especially when unwrapped, so the studio has coffee, snacks, and a small play space for the {little} big siblings. It’s fine to have a parent, friend, grandparent, etc come grab the siblings to go to school or just home after their portion, if you’d like. I try to do family poses first, but, it all depends on the tiny boss of the session.

Please try to schedule your newborn session before baby arrives. It’s best to contact me around month 6 or 7 of your pregnancy to ensure that I can easily get you onto my calendar. I only accept a limited number of newborns per month, so time is of the essence. We tentatively schedule near your due date and adjust as necessary once baby arrives. My ideal newborn session is 5-12 days after birth, as they start to become much more alert and take more work to settle after that age. However, if your baby is “older,” that doesn’t mean we can’t make it happen. Just make sure you expect the possible need for more time and patience and maybe some extra settling & feeding for baby at two+ weeks of age, especially if unwrapped.

After your session, you’ll receive your finished gallery within one week. From the gallery, you’ll choose your favorites for download and any additional images may be purchased for $40 each. You can purchase the entire gallery for only $175. There is no obligation to purchase additional photos.

Full gallery download is complimentary with any $400+ print purchase.

Full Newborn + Family Session

$900

• Up to 8 set ups/poses, which include unwrapped poses with baby dressed in an outfit provided by the studio in multiple poses, with varying shots of each set as well as different wraps, hats, headbands, buckets or baskets.

• Complimentary family pose, parent poses and/or sibling pose (when applicable) with wrapped or unwrapped baby, if you want them. Session can be baby only, if preferred.

• Generally lasts 2.5-3.5 hours, depending on baby and cooperation of any siblings.

• 25 digital images of your choice from a gallery of 40-50+ fully edited photos.

The number and type of unwrapped poses greatly depends on the baby’s willingness to be naked or unwrapped; it will take a little extra time and patience to achieve all goals with poses, especially unwrapped. Your input on your favorite unwrapped poses is invited and encouraged (prior to the session, not during). However, not all babies will do all poses so flexibility and the willingness to follow baby’s lead is of absolute necessity. The studio will be as warm as possible for baby, so bring extra, cooler clothes for yourself for when you are not being photographed if you’d like.

**Maternity + Newborn option: this session can be combined with the Fine Art or Full Family Maternity Session for a $150 total discount. This is a great way to save some money and get a really complete gallery and cohesive images for your motherhood experience from pregnancy to baby. A combo of both full sessions also includes a complimentary 16x20 Fine Art Print or two 11x14 Fine Art Prints.
