What days and times do you offer sessions?
Studio sessions take place Tuesday-Friday and start at 10 or 10:30 am in most cases. Outdoor sessions usually take place in the evening, during “Golden Hour” (1-2 hours before sunset) when lighting is ideal for photography. Weekends are not available except on mini session days, which are typically during mid-late October.
What should we wear?
You’ll receive guidance on what photographs best, and full sessions include access to the client closet when applicable — especially for Maternity photos. There are gowns, robes, tossing fabric, bodysuits. I also have non-maternity options for women, girls dresses infant sizes up to 14 youth. I also have a style guide available to help you choose your own clothing if you’d like suggestions but your own attire.
What if we don’t know how to pose?
That’s completely expected — and exactly why sessions are fully guided. I’ll direct you through every pose and detail, from posture and hand placement to subtle adjustments that make a big difference. You don’t need to prepare or practice. Most people don’t know what to do in front of a camera, you’re not the only one, and that’s what I’m here for.
My kids won’t sit still. Will this still work?
Yes. Sessions are designed to be flexible, upbeat, and interactive while still intentionally guided. I use a mix of direction, movement, and conversation to keep kids engaged and bring out real expressions without pressure. Just resist the urge to redirect or command your kids to smile. Trust me — I can get the shot even when it feels chaotic on your end. Also, please refrain from bribing with candy or snacks and giving them during your session.
How long does a session last?
Session length depends on which type you choose and the number of people involved. Full sessions allow plenty of time for a relaxed pace, while mini sessions are intentionally shorter and more focused. Mini sessions are about a half an hour and most Studio sessions are around 1.5 hours, excluding newborns because they take more time than others.

How far in advance should we book?
Availability is limited, especially for newborn and peak seasons. Booking early is recommended to secure your preferred timeframe. For newborns and maternity sessions, wait until after your anatomy scan and try to book ASAP afterwards, before 30 weeks.
Is a deposit or retainer required?
Yes. A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session date to guarantee placement on my schedule, with the remaining balance due the day prior to your session.
Most sessions may place in my studio on Main Street in Cortland. Some family or senior sessions are a can be in-studio, outdoors, or a combination of both. Locations are chosen for flattering light, ease, and overall experience. Outdoor family sessions are usually offered yearly as mini sessions.

Outdoor sessions are always planned with flexibility in mind. If weather isn’t ideal, we’ll reschedule or adjust plans as needed.
Do you offer candid or lifestyle sessions?
It’s something I can do, but not what I typically aim for. My work is intentionally guided and thoughtfully posed, with room for natural interaction and genuine expressions. While sessions aren’t documentary-style and in-studio, the goal is always images that feel real, comfortable, and true to you. When will we receive our gallery?
Galleries are typically delivered within two weeks. You’ll be able to view, select, and download your images directly from your online gallery.
How many images will we receive?
Each session includes a set number of digital images, selected from a curated gallery. The number included depends on the session type, and additional images may be purchased after gallery delivery if desired.
Do you offer prints or wall art?
Yes. Professional print options and wall art are available through your online gallery. Full gallery downloads are complimentary with qualifying print purchases.
